Welcome to the Hub: The Plan Behind Tech Meets Meat

Why this platform exists, what is being built here, and how you can become part of it: the kickoff post for the transhumanism hub from Berlin.

There are a thousand sites about AI. There are hundreds about biohacking, a few good ones about brain-computer interfaces, and almost nothing that thinks it all together as what it actually is. The merger of human and machine is not one tech topic among many. It is the topic of our century. And hardly anyone is seriously talking about it.

We're changing that. Here. Starting now.

What this hub is meant to become

Tech Meets Meat is designed to be a home base for everyone who doesn't scoff at the word "Neuralink" but wants to know what the actual state of play is. The plan has three stages:

  • Knowledge: The foundation pages on transhumanism, technologies and AI & the Singularity, continuously updated, with sources, in eight languages.
  • Debate: This blog. Analysis, opinion, and context, including the uncomfortable questions: Who gets access? Who controls the firmware? What remains of the human?
  • Community: A real scene in Berlin. Meetups, talks, arguments. Not just clicking online, but looking each other in the eye.

Why I'm doing this

The short version: I live with an artificial heart valve, I work as a developer, and I was born in 1998. If the forecasts are even half right, the merger of human and machine will be a decision in my lifetime, not my great-grandchildren's. The long version is in the manifesto.

I don't want to be the last to understand the future. I want to be one of the first to help build it.

What's next

Concretely in the works: more blog posts (yes, really: the next one compares Cyberpunk 2077 with real augmentation research), a glossary for everything from "BCI" to "longevity escape velocity", and the first steps for the Berlin scene. If you want in: the YouTube channel is currently the best place to miss nothing.
